Questions

We understand the importance of choosing the right daycare centre for your child and whānau. To help, we answered some key questions to help you understand if CECC if the right centre for you.

  • Our centre has a mixed-age group, which allows us to maintain a teacher-to-child ratio of approximately 1:4 to 1:5.

  • CECC is a non-profit Centre. Our current hourly rate is $7.20. A one-off $30 admin fee is charged to secure your child’s booking.

    Additional fees or charges may occur – these are referred to in our Fee Schedule which will be given to you on enrolment.

    WINZ subsidies may also be available for eligible families.

  • Our Centre offers 20 free hours funding from the Ministry of Education for children 3 years and over (a maximum of 6hrs per day).

  • Our Centre does not provide food for our tamariki. Parents/caregivers are required to provide food/bottles for the day. From time-to-time we do process cooking and our Centre will provide the food for that activity.

  • CECC is committed to providing a safe environment for all children, including those with food allergies. For this reason, CECC is a Nut free zone, and we ask that parents ensure that children come with food that is nut free.

    We will support children and whānau in any way we can, with putting a plan in place for those with individual intolerances or allergies.

  • New Zealand Early Childhood Education centres are required to have first aid-qualified staff. Specifically, there must be one first aid-qualified person present for every 25 children attending at all times. CECC ensures that every qualified staff member is first aid trained.

  • CECC offers programmes focused on the care and education of children, helping them grow to their fullest potential and preparing them for school. Our School Readiness Programme is called “School Me Up” and it is for age 4+ years.

  • While CECC is a Christian Centre, there is no requirement that enrolment is limited to children from Christian families. We warmly welcome all families to our Centre.

  • CECC provides a Christ-centred environment.  Integrating spiritual development into our curriculum. This may include activities like Bible stories, prayers, and songs. The "Fruit of the Spirit" values are woven through our curriculum and integrated through our assessment.
